The Cheetahs get their win!!!! It has been a long time coming but tonight saw the Cheetahs get a much-deserved win against a Gloucester side that were unbeaten coming into the game.

The girls have worked hard this season and tonight it finally paid off in a well-played game. I hope it will give the girls so much confidence going forward.

Gloucester City, without some of their stronger players but still full of talent, started the stronger, dominating the opening 15 minutes which resulted in them taking a much-deserved lead. This kick started the Cheetahs and soon after we had the equaliser with a well taken goal by Katie. A misunderstanding at the back and a little misfortune allowed Gloucester to retake a 2-1 lead before half time.

At half time we changed things up a little and the second half belonged to the Cheetahs. Marking out Gloucester’s key players and pressing high up the field turned the game in our favour and we started to dominate possession and keep the ball in Gloucester’s 23m area. This was rewarded with goals from Mia and Jess S resulting in a 2-3 win.

A fantastic team effort and every player played their part to win the match, well done and a great team performance!
