U18s lose 3-1 in a penalty shoot out.
An extremely disappointing morning for the our U18 girls who were beaten by Marlow on shuffles to go out of the cup.
A depleted U18 side which included 4 x U15 Cheetahs in a squad of 12 players almost pulled off an amazing cup win against Marlow.
Having never played together let alone know each other, the girls played some amazing hockey and deservedly scored (Isla) to end the first half in the lead, 1-0. Some excellent team defending frustrated Marlow but it was decisions made by the umpires that let Marlow back in to equalize midway through the second half.
Green cards a plenty and with their backs against the wall, the girls dug deep and from a quick break away were awarded a PC which we scored (Tilly H) from with 5 mins to go.
More green cards and with the clock already dead Marlow were awarded a PC, which they scored to make to final score 2-2.
An extremely disappointing outcome given the effort the girls demonstrated throughout the whole game. Tilly H, Izzy, Rose and Evie stepped up to take shuffles but unfortunately they went the way of Marlow.
Understandably the team and coach, Dave, were gutted!
