The U16G Cobras had a second outing in the T1 Supra League against Winchester. After battling hard the previous week against a very strong Trojans team to whom they lost 1-0, they came out full of belief. They played some exciting attacking hockey but it took 20 mins for Chloe to open the scoring. Flo managed to strike home an excellent PC in exactly the right place between GK and the LP person. Eva followed this with a cracking shot from the left shoulder of the D into the far corner.
Unfortunately we missed a PF in Q3, so it was then Q4 before a well worked PC led to Ellie deflecting the ball in from an Abi slap pass. Flo then scored a second goal shortly before the end.
It was not all about the attack, the defence played an important part in both defending the defensive circle and providing a firm base from which to set up attacks.
Well done to those girls playing Cobras for the first time.
